PET COMPLAINTS

The board has recently been on the receiving end of complaints about pets. Some of our neighbors have contacted us very upset that dogs are relieving themselves on their front lawn and the owners are not cleaning up after them. The responsibility of cleaning up dog waste is then left to the affected homeowner, not the dog owner, which is truly an injustice. Please be respectful of your neighbors by cleaning up after your dog. (And thanks to the vast majority who do!) Also, there are quite a few cats who roam the neighborhood, wandering in and out of garages, onto porches and along fences. Again, we ask that you please respect your neighbors. The Oak Meadows Homeowners Association cannot possibly begin to police such matters. All we can do is encourage all pet owners to take full responsibility for their pets and respect our neighbors and community as a whole.

ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES

Thank you to all homeowners who attended the Annual Meeting on January 28th - and to those who sent in proxies! We are required to establish a 10% quorum of homeowners (either in person or by proxy) in order to conduct business at the Annual Meeting. This year, through your participation, we were able to establish a quorum of greater than 20%! If you missed the Annual Meeting, we encourage you to read the meeting minutes.

OAK MEADOWS DIRECTORY

If you've lived in Oak Meadows for many years, you may recall that an annual Oak Meadows Directory used to be issued by the Oak Meadows Homeowners Association. Your Communications Committee is in the process of creating a 2010 Oak Meadows Directory for distribution to all homeowners in the spring. If you DO NOT want your name published in the Oak Meadows Directory, e-mail communications@oakmeadowsinfo.com. All opt-out requests must be received by July 15, 2010. We will also be including listings for "neighborly services" - babysitting, dog-sitting, lawn mowing, snow removal, etc. - in the 2010 Oak Meadows Directory. If you have a service to offer to your neighbors, please share it with our Communications Committee at communications@oakmeadowsinfo.com.

RICHMOND AMERICAN HOMES

As you may have noticed, Richmond is currently building homes on Union Avenue. It has been brought to the board's attention that kids are trespassing on the construction sites. This is very dangerous, and we certainly don't want anyone to get hurt. Please make sure your children are not playing in or near Richmond's new home construction sites.

GET INVOLVED TODAY

If you would like to get involved in the Oak Meadows Homeowners Association, it's never too late! All board and committee members are homeowner volunteers, and we encourage all homeowners to get involved. We are currently seeking volunteers to form a Social Committee. If you'd like to welcome new families to Oak Meadows, and spearhead the annual Community Garage Sale and Community BBQ, we need you!
